It was a hot day yesterday, so we headed to Ashland with our friends to catch a movie in a cool, air-conditioned theater in the late afternoon. As we got off the highway & headed into town, we noticed that all the traffic signals were off & it turned out that a car had hit a transformer & most of Ashland was without power. No power, no movie. So instead, we parked & headed to Lithia Park for a walk. As it turned out, the Ashland World Music Festival was happening & we got there just in time to enjoy the final set of the afternoon by Frankie Hernandez, a talented local musician who is featured in this photo. Fortunately, the festival had their own generators, so the electrified show went on as planned. We found a shady spot in the grass to sit & enjoy the music & the festive crowd... Please zoom.
