Description
I started commenting last night, and I'll visit each of your galleries this weekend. It's been busier than I thought, and---at age 68---health issues crept up. Nothing 'major', but as some of you know, it gets tiring as all get-out. I never planned to be absent this long.
I said I'd post dedis no matter what: I will! But they'll be late. I was told to relax a bit right now. (Lucinda/myrrhluz was yesterday. She's been absent, but her wonderful presence has been missed, and I'll add to her other dedis soon...the others caught her perfectly!)
I hope you're all well, and I wish you a terrific summer/winter, depending on your hemisphere. And, I've seen all of your uploads---every one---and will show my appreciation this weekend. Lotsa love to you all, and have a wonderful weekend, Mark
(the pic's lonnng, better full size...just more architectural study, of forms, lines, etc...)

Welcome back! Great image and yes! It is big and beautiful - love the lavender tinting and the rest of the postwork

Wonderful composition that must be viewed large to be appreciated. I love the way the natural randomness of the big tree on the right contrasts with the conscious straight line geometry of the architecture...

I know that big home across the street from other postings by you over the years. You always present it and the rest of your neighborhood in a fresh, new fashion. This presentation brought the phrase, "Surreal meets real", to my mind. But that's not quite right...this isn't bizarre, weird or freakish but it is dreamlike, maybe even phantasmagorical. One way or the other, I love your composition and artistic postwork in this magical photo. Even more than that, I love having you here. Stay well, take your time and drop by when you are up to it. Whether you do a little or a lot here, you are very appreciated by all of us.

Beautiful work !

Let me guess. Chicago tenements at their most stark appearance. Love the striking monotone effects, light and shadow. Great posting, but I couldn't increase the size. only reduce it. Otherwise, happy to see you posting again despite your busy schedule and health problems. I was getting concerned about your lengthy absence. Anyway, as you know, I've been down similar roads. No advice, just stay well.

I like the way the leaves and the brickwork in the buildings look; they are in complete contrast to the smooth walls. just like the deep, deep shadows are in contrast to the bright light. lots of nice angles make this is an interesting shot. a cool photo, Mark, the coloring is so neat!

'It's Lilac-time again'... it rang a bell with me, and then I googled it, nothing more Mr T. but I do remember, it was also a very old German movie... a.] When the White Lilacs Bloom Again (English translation) b.] Wenn der weiße Flieder wieder blüht (original German title) ...not so much to do with your presentation of the city vista, but the shading reminded me of the tones and hues of that movie - I love the post-work and different filter uses of your architectural photo & design, almost very goth ! LOL
also... Lilac-Time (1917) Music by Arthur Foote Text by Alfred Noyes More Songs by this Composer More Songs by this Poet "Lilac-Time" is a song by Arthur Foote setting a poem of English writer Alfred Noyes. The song is currently published by Classical Vocal Reprints.
I am sad to read, that you are not 100% well, those sort of things creep up on us sometimes overnight and then slow us down a bit, it happens to the best of us and I am no exception either - but my wish for you is to take care and I know you will ! [and I agree with, what Bill said] - I have also missed Lucinda's dedication, 'cause I have no idea where she is presently hanging around ? I will write to her privately, she is not forgotten, far from it ... she is an unforgettable beautiful lady with a lot of soul.

I love the sight lines that lead the eye directly to the main character. And your post work gives this a wonderfully graphic look. As for health, you don't say what it is but I can suggest from personal experience that diet and exercise can do wonders. Last year I asked my doctor how I was doing. He replied, "How do you think you are doing?" I said I thought I was in better shape than most 68 year olds. And he agreed. A far cry from where I was when I stopped working.

I love the graphic feeling you got with your trademark softening and gorgeous edges. This is marvelous! I love that arch. One of my favorite architectural details! It always makes me think of Chicago.

This is wonderful Mark! Very graphic treatment you gave this - I really love this look, buddy! Yeah, I'm finding as age creeps up, so do all kinds of other annoyances..... Hernias, gallstones, kidney stones (got rid of those, though..), hairlines receding to the back of your head, etc, etc, etc.... You and I are pretty close age-wise. I turn 69 in October... Jeeze, almost 70... Gah! There's still an 18-year-old trapped in this body, though... I'm far from done! LOL
Thanks for your wonderful comments, brother! They're always a blast to read! I've gotta make it to Chicago sometime after I retire - I'd love hanging out with you for a while!

Hello dear Marc, I hope you are fine!?!

What I like so beautifully is that the lines in the picture lead your eye, and exactly to that beautiful house, as if the doors are open to me to enter. The picture 'an sich' is the architecture here. So you are a great architect, my friend.

Such a fabulous shot and postwork, like only you can do it. Love the hue in this image and I love the silky look of this postwork. The buildings are really beautiful. Take care, dear Mark !
