While doing the raven's nests I came to thinking of my neighbor crows. Here's a photo of the location of their nest. In the thumbnail there's a dark opening just beside the white plate covering the bricks (see red arrow). This is the opening into the crow's nest. I hear them thrashing about from time to time, and occasionally crowing. They make very good neighbors, in contrast to the noisy human idiot who lives above me.
In the main photo the opening to their nest is visible at the lower end of the white metal plate covering the bricks. They have been nesting there for several years. I appreciate their presence. I think they recognize me as they sometimes give me a close fly-by or dive when I'm outside the front of my apartment building. But no cawing. Sometimes they walk about on my window sill. I wish I could get a photo of them, but it depends on my having my camera with me, and they are SO fast!
Enjoy!

In fact, very intelligent. They can solve problems and have been featured on TED, inserting a correct coin in a vending machine, pushing a button and getting a yummie reward.

birds and squirrels provided me with lots of work back when I was still working. very good capture. at a local hospital the birds try and attack people when they have a nest near by

I would much prefer a family of crows as neighbors than most humans... They don't throw trash around, or play loud (c)rap late into the night...
Cool photo and information.
