Description

Captured 6/5/201 @ 7:00 am, not far from my abode. I was informed that a wayward truck had hit the pole, thereby creating a hazard sometime during the early morning hours, resulting in the blocking off of any entrance to the immediate area, motorized or pedestrian, until repair crews could remedy the situation. Traffic was detoured all over the place during that period. The pole can also be seen at the upper left in the bottom photo.

A lot of volts to "bare hand" to avoid shutting down a region. The high tension you captured is real.

More fine captures of the oddities of big city life. Again, you captured a deep grayish blue, which feels almost melancholic. In the 1st shot, one really gets the feel of the desert. I mean, it's LA, but the flatness and the lines make one realize this is surrounded by desert. (I assume largely.) The 2d shot has the same flat feel but with a strong geometry caused by those striking red cones. Fascinating abstract. And the last---esp because of your cut-off cropping on top---jams us right into the cordoned area, and brings home how abandoned it is (ie, with no cars allowed). The pole in the background seems surreal. You continue to capture LA in ways that many outsiders never see it: This is definitely not the popular concept of your vast, sprawling city.
