I would think it was mill and needed the water for power or for washing the ore. So close to the stream it must have flooded a bit in Spring.

amazing colored water of the river leading into the beautiful landscape! in the front it looks like summer and in the distance like winter, cool contrast! but i am crying because you posted 1000 captures meanwhile, I need the whole day to write comments in your gallery! 😣
