This fellow is trying out a helmet. Price – 1,950:- Swedish crowns / 225.- dollars US. Note he is wearing a long sleeved tunic, rather usual under one’s protective wear. I asked him if he was going to Malmö that evening. He laughed and said yes, sure thing with this protecting him (Malmö is the next big city and has a lot of trouble). His wife was having fun, too. He paid the helmet cash, she purchased a pair of gauntlets on credit for him. He had tried out the 2 helmets with chain mail, but settled for this one. Note the multiple breathing holes and very narrow vision slits! See what I said about good archers in my post 5!
ENJOY!

I simply have no idea how theyqore this on their head. I am claustrophobic and this would put me right over the edge!

Open the visor, put helmet over head, close visor. Scream with claustrophobia! I'd have a hard time, too, particularly due to very limited field of vision.

$225 would be a bargain if one was interested in such. lots of hard work to handcraft . very candid capture

Like this with somebody actually modelling it.

Great capture of a guy who will be ready for the next festival. I am surprised at the bargain price of the helmet.

That is rather cheap for that helmet. Great candid capture

I've tried on some of that armor at our local RenFest a few years ago... After I got all that stuff on (and it wasn't a full set), the guy handed me this big claymore.... It's beyond me how anyone could even swing one of those canned up like that, never mind actually fight...
Great photo, Michael!
