What would a medieval festival be without music? Here we have 3 musicians entertaining us. Each plays several instruments from the period. From left to right – small bag pipes, lute, key harp. If you look closely at the key harp you will see it has a long series of keys on the near side that shorten the vibratory length of the strings, allowing for change of pitch (= melody). Since there are twelve strings the instrument can be played in harmony with itself.
On the ground lies an Irish harp and another lute. In the black box is a hurdy-gurdy.

Thanks for the YouTube link. A good idea what it sounds like, though the music is modern.
