Description
A first for me (and my lens broke!). Flew in all the way from Norway, owned by the Norwegian Spitfire Foundation.
The type first flew in 1935 (really), and up until 1940 Noorduyn had sold 17 examples, then the U.S bought them, almost every airfield in the U.K. had one as a Hack. By 1959, over 900 had been built.
This one was built in 1944, transferred to the Norwegian Air force in 1945 and now is run by private hands. It has its original military code and marking.
Nearest relation, the Beaver.. Which it flew with here..

Thought it might be an ancestor,...to the Beaver born in 1947, 12 long years after the Norseman. Love the flatness of this fine grass field. I got to fly on and off grass frequently back in the day (1960s). It is a real pleasure when it is smooth and cared for like this.

A big ??? for me. Had NO idea they had aircraft manufacturing. And even less that so many would wind up buying them! Shows they must have been doing something very well! Thanks for posting this surprise! Keep up the good work! :-)

Beautiful capture! They were manufactured right here in Montreal - I believe one of my relatives used to work for Noorduyn Aviation just before the outbreak of World War II.

My acquaintance with similar was with the Howard DGA. The propeller always looks so dinky compared to the size of the engine where single row is involved. All metal!
