Description
Captured back on 6/21/2011, during my second trip to the beautiful Aquarium of the Pacific, in beautiful Long Beach, California.
Unless someone else knows better, I believe the fish at the top are Flathead Mullets, and the ones below are of the Mono variety. I can't believe I still remember their names. And, this scene is so typical of the environment, that I left singing the blues when exiting the Aquarium.

You have a number of shots like these in this series, where you get a "din" of marine life, making a crammed luminous abstract, with rich blues and some amazing greens (in their tales and on their tops), lights and darks, etc. It almost seems painted on. And you have darks on top and lights on the bottom: balance throughout. A real visual 'jewel' chest, soaked in marine-dom. As for what fish these are, I haven't a clue. And as for you leaving 'singing the blues', maybe when everyone leaves, these fish pull out guitars and wail into the night ("I gotta woman, she lives on a hill...", or "Mah mule broke down, an' I got mah-self the broken-mule blues...") Beautiful impressionistic 'painting'...
