Description

The bark of the Giant Sequoia can be 3 foot thick at its base and it protects the tree from fungal rot, wood-boring beetles and from fire. Throughout its lifetime the Giant Sequoia continues to grow and they can live for thousands of years, the oldest known tree lived for 3500 years. Once there were vast forests that covered the northern hemisphere, then after the Ice Ages only three species survived. Sequoias are incredibly hardy but even these mighty trees can use a Guardian Angel. This Sequoia prop was generated using AgiSoft Photoscan from 59 photos taken in the Tuolumne Grove, Yosemite.
