Description

First, I live in Tennessee. Near the Smokey Mountains. There is no seacoast anywhere. Having said that, this beautiful Roseate Spoonbill has appeared at a friends pond. No one has any idea why it is here. Needless to say I have been enjoying myself taking pictures. I love this one because of the hitchhiker.

First, unusual bird in unusual place. And then the hitchhiker. Must be some insect. And then my laugh! Thanks! Put me in a good mood before going to bed! As for dragons, am I correct in assuming you like Danaeris and her 3 pets in Game of Thrones (my favorites)? And of course, Smaug, in The Hobbit! Keep up the good work! :-)

When we're in Texas during the winter, we see these fly over quite often. They are so clearly pink, even from a distance, and their bills are distinctive. It's so much fun to be in a birder's paradise for a few months a year!
