Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Great manipulation Andrea. You have found a new tool (Topaz Studio) to let you express your imagination in new and exciting ways.
This is wonderfully colorful. It transforms an everyday object into a work of art.
You are taking "digifiddling" to a new high, lol.
I love it.

So that's Lee (right above me). He's the one who got you into Topaz? I can see how it could be addictive. I Love the bag to begin with---I'm imagining it without the Topaz, and it looks like the kind of bag you'd have. Love the mix of hues and that floppy handle. But your Topaz work made it into a drawing/painting, with almost-crayon lines all over it. You got these cellular things going throughout the bag---those potato-like shapes swimming around like big ameba---and your color combinations are wonderful. I really like how you're handling this software. Love the piece. Wouldn't it be great if the actual bag looked like that?
(Btw, not that this is even slightly interesting to you but since you've posted lots of insects in the last month or so ((and they've all been wonderful shots, esp the most recent ones of the emperor dragonfly laying eggs)), I wanted to tell you that I was bit by an insect last week, and I woke up with swelling all through my hand and half my lower arm---like a balloon. I had to be hospitalized for a day! It took a week to get the infection out of me, and I ran a fever---all from a tiny creature who I never called any names or stole any credit card numbers from. Your dragonfly shots exonerated the little sneaks: I love insects, but who asked them to bite? I mean, I'd have bought the little bugger breakfast if it'd given me half a chance. A tiny little mouth, and it did me the hell in!)
