Stour Valley way Northbourne Bournemouth Platycnemis pennipes. I was excited as this was my first sighting of this one

A handsome fellow. It looks like he is waving to you.

It’s lucky I am retired so I have time to do things like this. It began with the name damselfly. But is a male a damsel? So, of course, this sent me on a quest because I have an obsessive nature.

Damsel is from the French Damoiselle. And the male equivalent (drum roll please) Damoiseau!

How do you keep doing it? "What?", she asks quietly. I typically don't find insects very noteworthy...but yours do capture and hold my attention...yours have that little something extra that I can't explain. You must infuse them with a little extra PIZZAZZ. Agree with Mark above, your gallery is fun:)
