When you first posted this, I honestly thought of surveillance cameras---the eye watching us all. Though it's a pipe (and I don't know where---though the background looks like a display for a components or computer store), it feels like a strange eye staring at us, or some primitive microphone, or something with glass in the center (your blur makes it feel like glass). It really draws us in. And your definition on the rim---to where we can almost see cobwebs---is wonderful contrast with the softness everywhere else.

(I know what it is: A submarine surfacing through concrete!) (There's a story in there...)
