Description

The Cathedral Square in Christchurch. The view is toward the East. The cathedral is in the center and the tall building to the left is the Novotel Hotel. When we arrived we stopped right in front of the cathedral and had our first glimpse of it. It was shocking. And then we were told that we would stay at the Novotel Hotel. We were assured that the hotel is save, It sits on 'rollers' and had triple-redundancy construction. And the old cynic in me was wondering what if the next earthquake requires quadruple-redundancy? I sincerely hope they build up the city in a safer manner. Hope they find a way of reinforcing the cathedral. Nice photo of the plaza. Keep up the good work! :-)
