Interesting post....I wish they better identified each capsule to make the comparison more interesting. The capture is cool though!

In a gallery filled with finds that most photographers don't catch, this is one of the strangest and most grabbing. This and its companion (number 2) make eerie, futuristic lab shots that, yes, do look like mad scientists are dreaming something up for the public---like liquids we'll all drink when the water dries up. (A scenario closer to your part of the country than mine, to be sure.) You remember the film "Soylent Green"? This reminds of that. What's weird is that there are signs, "Algae," "Animal," etc, which make one think that scientists making new animals in these gigantic tubes. In any case, they glow as photography, they're eerie, the background has a dank amber "interior" look, and the regularity of these gigantic test tubes is jarring (no pun intended) because they imply some gigantic mind dreaming this up. Very arresting photos, which create quite a few questions. Glad you stopped to capture this. (Gigantic Kool Aid vats? I haven't a clue...)
