I'm only back for a quick time tonight (I'm only uploading for special purposes, and my comments are for them almost exclusively). But I wanted to comment on at least one more of your pieces before I step down, because I so appreciate your work, your dedication, and your kindness to us all (which includes me, for which I thank you). I was so surprised to see this outpouring of fantasy and mixed media from you---just because I've seen mainly photos and fractals in your gallery for such a long time. These have such fairy tale/folktale feeling, and magic. This one is soaked in a hot, passionate red---the perfect hue for jealousy---and the two women seem like they're tempting that man, as jealousy does. Simultaneously, the man seems like he's tempting them, as jealousy does. With his piles of gold below, and the crown. (He looks like a neon knight, with I assume some dragon or other animal symbol on his chest---something one sees on old royal insignia. And the crown helps a lot, to be sure.) The top lady looks like a highly stylish version of the witches of Macbeth ("Fair is foul, and foul is fair/ Hover through the fog and filthy air..." Lovely sentiments, aren't they?) Except this lady has tons of class, and she's got a crystal ball and big ribbed wings, and she's peering over her shoulder---well done! And the other woman is more exotic, and carries a great parasol that seems doused in intimations of evil. LOve the division of the frame with that gold border. It's a period piece, something out of Renaissance theater...Beautifully done, as are all these mixed media pieces. I'll be back for more soon, Barb, just wanted to share my thoughts and appreciation for what you're doing. And also, I hope that things are going ok with you in the long and demanding role of caretaker. I hope you're holding up, and that your mother is doing ok too. Much light and peace to you, as always. I wish you peace and strength with it all.
