Description

Yesterday the sky had cleared, but it was humid, the dew point in the low 70s and despite the fact that the temperature only hit 103F, it felt miserable. To the north of us, over the Mogollon Rim there was heavy built up of Cumulus and some to the south too. The sun set and about 20:00 or so I heard my wind chimes occasionally. The built-up to the north started to move in, and at 22:00 it started. The best thunderstorm in years - non-stop lightning and thunder for 1 1/2 hours, and of course rain. The weather radio went ape. At my house, even though there was nonstop lightning and thunder it was only a gently rain. I received 0.3 inch overnight, the previous night .55 inches in a little over 15 minutes. Luke got hit with winds of 60 mph and rain and since the roads have no drainage, that what happened, flooded roads This picture was taken 08:07 on 13 August 2017, Sig..

No drainage in the desert makes for lots of flash flooding, but you knew that.
