Description

My wheelchair bound friend and I went on a photo road trip through rural areas last Friday. We hoped to find some old barns or farm implements. Alas, we had little luck. No old barns at all. No old equipment. No old home sites. We almost got in trouble when we stopped on a dirt and gravel road to at least get a photo of a pretty new barn in a pretty setting. I had to climb a steep embankment to get a good view from the fence line. Just as I reached the top, a car pulled up behind us and the driver inquired as to what the heck we were doing. It was the owner. I explained that we were on a photo outing and had spied her barn from the road. I mentioned that we thought it was a very picturesque barn and that I just wanted to take a picture. Upon hearing this she got much friendlier and seemed pleased that we liked her barn as much as she did. She went down her drive and we continued down the dirt road. Unfortunately, the barn owner neglected to tell us we were on a 6 mile long dead-end road with no other homes (new or old) along the way. I did manage to spot a small stand of cattails in a wet area but none of the photo I took turned out to be usable. What a drag. By the time we got back to the highway, we were both tired, thirsty, and disgruntled so we decided to head home. Here is the barn. Tomorrow I think I will start a reptile series. It will include a variety of interesting subjects. My thanks to those who have taken the time to comment. The feedback is appreciated. Lee
