Description
I have a lot of these in the garden and this is the best end of the season for this species.
I have yet to get a photo of them laying because unlike the Hawkers they don't keep still to do it!

A great shot. Your description that they don't keep still put an image in my mind of a darter dive bombing the pond and releasing her eggs as she flies over. Must be the Chai tea and chocolate.
