A superb pair of close ups. But your post work is brilliant, everything is intensified. A beautiful flower but I still get the creeps when I see one. Your treatment of the center here makes this look like an iris that could open up and swallow you at any moment. I'll say it again, these sunflowers are aliens from outer space.

Both are beautiful, and yes, with Mark, sunflowers can be formidable and even scary. Your topaz version is a big swirling power center, with the geometry of the thing standing out stunningly. The reds coming out of the center are wonderful 'energy' lines. A real eye popper.
