Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

How about, "Get a room you two!". LOL

All those pictures of single darters and now, finally, the happy couple. I believe the Kama Sutra refers to this as 'The Hammock'.

(oh, I have titles, but I'm not gonna print them. I actually wrote a little tale on these---this went up tuesday my time, and I had a little time---but it was so x-rated, I didn't finish it. Trust me, it was raunchy...) (I also thought of a gymnastic act, which it looks like. And Mark referred to the Kama Sutra, a book I found impossible when I was 20: It'd near kill me today. Got a tale about that too---an Indian lady I dated nearly killed me with poses from that book, years back. True story. I had to draw the line when I lost circulation in my limbs and was beginning to faint. ((The color blue---on your skin---isn't a good sign when you're making love...)) Amazing capture, and while they may be making love, they also look like they're part of one of those old acrobatic acts where two people ran on the stage, tied themselves into knots, then took a big bow, and ran off. You've gotten amazing shots of insects, and this one's really stunning.
