Ok, I"m skipping for the first time, only so I can get to a few other categories of yours. I now leave your magical animal world, and re-enter your plant world. And this one was a total surprise...just because I've never really seen a whole ginger plant before, and because you made this into a huge pulsating cosmic primal thing, which looks like it could burst into a million tiny seeds that could populate the whole universe. (See? See why I say, couldn't you do a simple cartoon, or a stick figure----your work is cosmic!)

This has your usual rushing and whooshing brush lines across the petals. Many made of deep saturated reds, next to grayer/darker reds (shade) and whites painted over the reds: you got the full motion from light to dark. But you've also outlined the petals---which I realize is how they are in nature, but you've emphasized the whites to where they feel like creatures crawling out of their womb-like nests and reaching into the cosmos. And you show the cosmos reacting via those petals showing up in the sky itself! As if the sky were bowing to this amazing plant, creating its own version of it. (That's another Carol thing---you have the area around a plant resonate with the plant, and let it pick up the plant's language, forms, energies, spirits, etc.) And what layers you have up there:

Layers from greens to olive greens to reds to dark pinks to lighter pinks and, finally, some whites: a total Carol sky! And on the bottom? Flame-like stalks which undulate upwards like fire. The whole piece pulses and radiates; and I swear, those flower heads are like huge pods ready to burst out their life everywhere. And the petals droop 'off' of them, like a lava spill. Resplendent, splendid and so very sensual.
