Description
As well the 617 Squadron connection, RAF Scampton is The Red Arrows home base and the first time they had actually displayed there to the public. Also, the last shows of the season.
Here, Red's 1 to 3 take off for the first time. The team was going to form up with an aircraft they had never flown with before (photo upcoming). Its also almost never seen at shows.
I also have a blast from the past for Mike and others upcoming... You'll never guess!

I am keeping up with the Onboard Oxygen Generator System (OBOGS) issue with Hawks. Now where did that come from? The Hawk was chosen in preference to a twin design in US Navy in 1978 when I left Douglas and a licensed build was chosen. The Teledyne Honeywell engine version never happened. Was it the Hornet that spoiled it's sibling? Your depth of coverage of things historical is total.
