Description

Betty had heard that I was having problems with my rendering computer. So she volunteered to show off her latest piercing. It is intended to aid her with the skill of speaking clearly and expressively - and nothing else. She saw it in a movie once.
Yup, I had to replace my fan. I should have seen it coming as it had been making the most teeth shattering squeals of late. That and the fact that my life has become infested with lawyers and paralegals recently is what has been keeping me away. And then there is work. The legal matters do not impact on me directly but I am involved so I have to deal with the barristers. They have very strange notions of urgency and it is hard to get a straight answer from them at times. But now that Thanksgiving Weekend has rolled around (I am Canadian) they have retreated for a while and I can get back to some normalcy. We're having lamb this year. There is nothing particularly new with this Poser rendering. It is composed from a series of stock V3 expressions and gestures which I've developed over the years - you may recognize some of them. I did lower the shading rate of Betty's head, neck and hair down to 0.01 from the default of 0.2. I wanted to see if a finer rendering rate produced a more lifelike result. Maybe slightly, it's hard to tell as I'm not viewing the end result from a console. It did have the side effect of making the render take over two days to complete. I didn't notice this at the time as I was dealing with the lawyers. I shutter at how long a rendering might have taken if I had lowered the shading rate for more of Betty. Another good reason for a girl to be fully dressed and always wear gloves in public. Anyways, I hope everyone is having a great weekend whether in Canada or not. And thank you all for stopping by to check out my work. Cheers!

Regardless how minor a computer problem is, it is a PITA. I recently got a second-hand one for $60 on EBay. Not exactly up to the specs that I wanted (not by a long shot) but it does have Win7, 8 gigs of RAM, a dual 3.5 processor and a hefty NVIDIA VC. I still have my 14-year old Gateway, which never, ever gave me trouble--it just couldn't handle the ever-increasing demands of Poser textures. I still use it, just not for graphics. It has 4 fans. I also have a 12-year-old Samsung flat-screen monitor for which I have a small desk fan running constantly to keep the monitor's backside cool. Clean and cool for computer equipment is the recipe for computer happiness.

Great render. The lighting is awesome and the POV is perfect. I do have to say, that it will be a cold day in hell before you could get me to put a piercing into my tongue, Ugh.

Enjoy your lamb 😃

Very beautifully created and the piercing looks super, not that I would ever have one, but it suits Betty. I hope you enjoy your thanksgiving dinner with lamb. :)

Computers are great when they are working well, but once they go wrong it is a nightmare. From one who is having problems too. Excellent render, hugs Jane xx 😀
