Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

A bit like some people who are asked to stand for a portrait. Your Mr. Lee is a delight. I'm with him on the civet coffee though.

Great drawing! She looks very matronly. This is a lot of fun, seeing your work! You're extremely talented!

I may be late to the party but I certainly enjoyed myself once I arrived, lol. I just love these Inktober drawings. You have told me to create some greeting cards based on my images. I return the advice.
I followed your link and am pleased I did. Unfortunately I could not find the verses you mentioned.
You are indeed a very talented lady.

I saw some of Tom's poems some days ago, and they're a delight. Helle told me about them too---she loved the whole idea. Great when other artists riff off your art. Love this for the characterization---a true matron, she stands like the Rock of Gibralter w/ big shoulders, big bustline, a face to match---and she seems like a kind matron. With your characteristic features (nose, lips cheek lines, etc). Great white hair. And some more of those tomato reds and bright yellows---this time around her rather than on her. (You used them in number 2, I believe...somewhere in the beginning.) Terrific. And her arms are mostly white, which makes this almost an abstract of colors and areas. Love this piece.
(Andrea, I've written some pieces on a bunch of your images, but most of my riffs fell apart halfway through. I thought of posting the fragments, but I just couldn't finish them. It wasn't because of your art, but because I wasn't sure that I could get a finished story out of them. But Tom did a great job, and what a treat to get those little poems for each of your pieces.)
