"NICE KITTY...(?)"
This was just a test render a few weeks ago--I think I was experimenting with IBL or something. Who knows? lol (Whatever it was, I hope I learned something. ;-) Anyway, though it's nothing special, I kind of liked it, so will go ahead and post it. Now that I've excited your anticipation . . . **grin**
Tired tonight (my wife dragged me around shopping all day -- hahaha) and I didn't get to many others galleries on Rendo to comment. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to do so this weekend. Speaking of which, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you for so many kind comments in my gallery posts.
God bless.
~Robert
P.S. I adore my wife!!! (Even when she drags me off shopping!) :-D

Don't get many stray cats round here like that.

I know next to nothing about 3D, and the one time I posted some, I got a lotta "keep trying" comments, and "everything worthwhile takes time!" (which were very kind ways of saying, "we may vomit!"---and that was ok as I got pretty sick of the piece myself!) So I don't know anything about the method you mentioned above. I know the background is very soft, it has an almost monet composition in spots. The woman and feline are very clear and present, by contrast, and done with real panache, both in texture and pose. I also like how she looks back at him. (A lion cub?) Their clarity stand out quite well from the dreamy soft-focus background. And you have a kind of impressionist pointillism in the colors back there. A fascinating contrast of fore and background; and the woman and cat are beautifully done.
