I just lost a comment on "Decisions and Consequences," and I'm fit to be tied! I wrote a lot on it. I'll make it my first stop next time, I promise. But I'm writing on this terrifically playful and thoughtful image instead. I love the "slice" here, the cross section revealing the inner life of the sea, with those great broken columns and arches and that huge turtle (with bubbles coming up from its head---I almost expect thoughts to be in those bubbles). And the water cascading down it, like over a wall. It reminds me (boy does this age me!) of the "splitting of the Red Sea" from that old, old movie "The Ten Commandments" by good ol' Cecil B. DeMille, whose sense of spectacle was a weeeeeeeeee bit overboard, but who knew how to make a spectacle regardless. He had the sides of the sea like this: Straight up, with water streaming down them. And in your piece, the water lands on flat ground---great concept---and the area above? a tranquil surface, with a swan, orbs, meteors, and dawn light, doused in azure greens. A marvelous vision, I love it. Your imagination is framed so beautifully in these; and wonderful imagination, to begin with.
Barb, I'm at an hour and 25 minutes, so I have to stop. (I have everyone else to get to.) I hope to come back for more this week. But it's a pleasure: These are whole stories in themselves. And thank you for your very kind words in my gallery---I appreciate them greatly. Your presence here gives great light and kindness to everyone, and I've always appreciated it, and I hope you get it back. Hope all is well with you, and that your caretaking leaves you with energy to commune with your heart, soul and life. I hope to be back for more...
