Description
located in Springfield, Missouri . their very first store
I have traded my 2015 4Runner (74,000 miles) in for a new 4Runner and it has not arrived yet from the Port of Houston . the salesman asked to drive a Camry instead of my 4Runner while we are waiting for the arrival. He gave me a 2018 brand new Camry to drive and I went to Missouri to some caverns,Bass Pro, a castle in Springfield, and a Civil War park where the second battle took place of the the Civil War. the first Union general was killed during the battle. I also visited Vinita,Oklahoma and some lakes in the North Eastern part of Oklahoma. I arrived home earlier.
the Camry is a bottom of pricing and the seats reminded me of the terribly hard seats in a Corolla XRS I use to have. the 4 cylinder is very strong however and had good mileage
the car has accident avoidance system and the first one I drove. every time I set the cruise control, suddenly it would slow down, making me think the cruise was at fault. I finally realized it was making the car slow down when I was following large vehicles . I hope my new 4Runner does not have it. I am thinking that all cars sold in the US must have it now. if I had realized that I would have insisted on a 2017

Poor guy looks a little worse for wear--moth eaten?? When I go out West I try to fill up on buffalo burgers/steaks since buffalo meat is hard to find in my neck of the woods. For my taste buffalo is far better than beef.
You certainly put on those miles with your little trip. As far as this accident control: I think it's a good idea because not only have US citizens become fatter and dumber over the years, they have become really bad drivers. Maybe you don't need this feature, but, I can tell you, many others do.

Very cool shot, Richard!
We visited the Springfield store several years ago - when this was the only store they had. They a couple in the Kansas City area now - one is just a couple miles from me. We go there frequently for the restaurant - great food, and a good friend is a server there.

this is such a cool shot. cars are getting to be smarter than the drivers. enjoy your new vehicle.

Great capture!
Yeah, I'm not convinced that all this computer-assisted driving is such a great thing, especially when these self-driving cars keep crashing. Taking away the human input and replacing it with a silicon brain doesn't strike me as a very good idea--we still need the Cpt. Kirks and Scottys to make things work when the computer wants to flake out on us.

Exellent work.

I hope that so called safety feature doesn't eventually result in the death of the car's occupant or even worse! Nice shot Richard! Glad you're getting a fresh motor!
