Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Magnificent shot of (some) the tools in your garden shed.
We don't use leaf blowers either-- a real waste and its suppose to be against the law to blow all the leaves onto the street.
However some people just don't get it..

A nice still life. Its a toss up for me whether leaf blowers or water hoes are worse. Either way represents an all to common attitude. "If I can't see it its not a problem."

Great capture and text!
Good point about the leaves blowing back. I guess that's good for the gardeners because it guarantees future work. Not so good for the property owner who is paying them.

well seen and captured

Andrea, I say the same. I hate the noice from Per´s leaf blower and he BLOWS it down from the yard, between the sheds and this house, onto the lawn. Then we can "glide" on from there and crunch the escargots under the leaves later on. YUCK! I wish he would mount the sack and empty it in our recycle bin, but I am afraid, it is too heavy for him to carry with his very sore feet. Now I use the rakes myself, of which we have 3, before Per even thinks about using the leaf blower :D This shot reminds me of one I posted years ago. :)
