Description

------------------ Most of you know Barb (bakapo), and know her to be one of the kindest, most supportive people here. And you know her art (go see), and how sensitive and beautiful it is. If you've been a follower of hers, you know she's been caretaking for a sick parent for a while now...and any of you who've cared for a loved one knows it's a full time job, where you're always on call, always devoted to their needs, and can't get out, sometimes even for several days, because the loved one can't be left alone. It's a very, very big job. I'm posting this to say that Barb deserves all the hugs and gratitude there is for doing this, and still coming here and giving her kindness to us constantly, and creating and posting her always beautiful, mysterious and magical art. (I loooooove her mixed media...and I was a big fan of her other work before that too, incl her fractals and photography, and so on.) Barb's been very kind to me; and I wanted to thank her, and acknowledge what she gives us and how much she cares. This is a street near home---photographed almost on this day, 5 years ago! I haven't found another view that captures as honestly---for me---how my neighborhood looks in early November. There's no other light like it: Slightly dark, but shimmering, with lights, and all that intense yellow and red...and yes, I've spruced it up a bit, to make it special. Big hugs to you, Barb, for you and your art and all you do, with lots of love and blessings, which you deserve, Mark (Please zoom...it's big!) ------------------

Wonderfully rich, warm colors & a really fine composition. I usually think frames are superfluous, but in this case that deep red frame really ties everything together. An autumn beauty & a thoughtful dedication...

Fantastic photo! It really captures the feel of Fall in the city. This is a beautiful way to show Barb how you feel. I can understand the strain she is under and she is to be admired.

there's a sense of warmth with the colours and yet a sense of chill in the air due to the changing season. A most wonderful and beautiful image for Barb.

oh, Mark, thank you! this scene is so pretty and so warm; even if it is November. the leaves shine like gold hung in the air for all to see. I love those neat black fences and beautiful buildings. the tiny lights on the tree sparkle just right. I would love to take a walk down this street... I might never leave. :) thank you for thinking of me and for sharing such beautiful places. I may not be able to leave the house much, but I'm traveling through wonderful photos like this. thanks again! hugs

How lovely this is! The light is wonderful. It's comfortable, and invites me to go inside and have a cup of tea. The yellow leaves, the only ones left, are gorgeous. A beautiful image and a wonderful dedication.

Every time I see one of your street shots, I am amazed by its beauty. You made this so inviting, that it makes me want to have a walk there, just to enjoy the whole area. Such a beautiful and heart-warming dedication to your friend. :)
