This is behind the British lines. I believe this is roughly where the main field hospital was located along with other "support" functions. The Hudson is prominent and formed a vital supply line for various forces over the years. It is still fairly wide at this point. This is also near an exit to the park, and we decided to mosey on up alongside the river to Schuylerville (http://revolutionaryday.com/usroute4/schuylerville/default.htm) and conclude our Saratoga visit. Siri kept us on track but she did have some interesting, unintended side trips as the roads can criss-cross and just not cooperate. I'm reminded of the story about paths being laid out by following the tracks of wandering cattle. I think we found those paths and some fool paved them to add to the fun.
