Description

April, 2016 Alabama Hills, California We spent two days exploring the Alabama Hills, which are in Eastern California, just outside of Lone Pine. On the second day a storm came through, which gave us some pretty amazing light. We stayed in Lone Pine for two or three days on our way back to Washington from Texas. It was the last trip we took in the motorhome, and we have fond memories!

beautiful light painting, which dapples the mountains and the ground with an almost undersea light. And it feels like 'silk' light too---esp in the sky, where it's not seen 'against' anything. You coaxed out completely non-material sights here---all light and sheen and shadow---and turned this landscape into a piece of magic. Beautiful work, Tara. A beautiful, very magical image.

(I'm almost finished with Bill's piece. It just took time...it's imaginative rather than realistic, and it's taken time to hone it...it should go up soon.)

So dramatic! I this week watched a BBC programme about the power of past floods, millennia ago. About a third of the hour was about the Scablands of Washington. Fascinating !
