Kargaz: “Hallo, boys. I see you’ve brought the little trinkets you've been having such fun with. Now I know what is meant by 'painting the town red' .... And your little spotted friend here - is he meant to be that colourful? Or have you been playing wizards on him with that wand and staff, Chomper?” Ch: “Bong didn’t start off that way, Kargie; but he says he’d quite like to stay as he now is.” Archwizard: “We’ll see about that, my lad. So, you have a wand, a glowing sphere, and a snake staff. Just where did you get them from?” Ch: “Silvanu. She said a weird creature had passed through the forest and dropped the sphere. The wand and staff were in an old chest in her attic.” Blue Wizard: “She lives in a cave, robot - you don’t get attics in caves!” Ch: “Want a bet, Percy?” BW: “I say, robot - now that’s too much - Kargaz, they’ve picked that up from you. To you, robot, I am Percival!” Ch: “Whatever, Percy. Anyway, she’s got lots of rooms; they keep changing around, like, and there was at least one attic last time we were there.” AW: “To the point, Chomper. These devices led you to the parts of the Time Key?” Ch: “Well, it was probably just the sphere. It glowed every now and again and then. There was a burst of light each time we found a bit of that key.” AW: “So … perhaps the weird creature was also looking for the parts of the Key?” BW: “And by now will know they have been found - and used.” K: “And may also want that sphere back. Well, Chomper, my dear fellow, you’d better watch out; I have a good idea just what that creature was.” AW: “Not the one I ran into, then.” K: “While I was entertaining the President of the Time Council, someone mentioned a Time Guard, and -“ AW: “I need to speak to you about your 'entertaining', Kargaz. I have received a complaint, expressed strongly, and in not very diplomatic language, from one Trystan, Head of Security, and the fiance of the President.” K: “Oh I can explain -“ AW: “I’m quite sure you can. Later. Now, what shall we do about this sphere? I think we may ignore the wand and staff?” BW: “Can’t we just send it back?” AW: “Use your common, Percival, where do we send it, eh?" K: “I think a Time Guard might well come looking for it. You know, there were some very pleasant Guards on duty there; but perhaps they’re -“ AW: “Don’t tell me any more. If they complain about you I shall know. And the girls rarely do. For the time being, Chomper, you and your friends will stay here. If any alien force tries to enter this building I will know.””
