Description

From the porch just below the tympanum we saw yesterday. Looking towards the Confederate lines. I believe the snow on the distant mountain is a ski trail. We start to see some of the smaller monuments that dot this area. They reminded me of an awfully large chess set, and I'm afraid that "theme" is captured in some of the images coming up (just past). Time to check out the view from the observation deck. Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

Gives a good idea of how vast the area was, and how many men it took to cover the area. And how many paid a terrible price for preventing the other side from breaking through. Thanks. We need more understanding for history and its sacrifices for the younger generations. Keep up the good work! :-)
