Description
Gefeliciteerd lieve Jacomina. Happy Birthday dear, Jacomina. I have not posted in a long time because I do not have much time and more because I do not have a good working camera. But, this is one of my paintings from long ago. It is a study of a painting of the Great White Throne located in Zion National Park in Utah, USA by Maynard Dixon. His painting is called, "High in the Morning". I painted it with oil paints on canvas in about 2011 I think. Now I dedicate it to you for your birthday and I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

His is, of course much better, but I enjoyed very much painting a study of his work. Oh, your painting is beautiful, and I found the page, dear Katherine. I think those of you is very special, so clever with all those shadows, the reflections and the diversity of shades of color. It is an excellent work of art. I know how difficult it is to display all those facets that are in a rocky mountain, and that is exactly what you have shown very nicely. I would quite like to paint together once, Katherine, is that a deal? Thank you so much, and I too appreciate the name of that park, as it is Zion, what means "Sion",

It's always a joy to see you here, Katherine, and this painting is beautiful. I saw the original, and it looks like you've given a 'magic' to it, with your contrasting light and dark hues. Your mountain sides quietly glow. And you've composed it so that there is that one well-known peak in the center, and everything else 'frames' it. I love the light on the bottom and the right-side facade too: It sets off the darker tones of the main mountain....I really like this. And it's a beautiful dedi for Jacomina, who I see likes that it's "Zion" too. (Was that in your mind, I wonder?) Beautifully done, and a wonderful dedi. Happy Birthday, Jacomina, and many, many more! Beautiful work, Katherine, and it's always great to see you back on RR, if even for a day....
