Description

Today I made a traditional turkey lunch for my Eastern art student lodgers, Kazuya sat, looking extremely puzzled, staring at his knife and fork, until I said "Would you prefer to get your chopsticks?" He was so relieved and enjoyed all of the bits and pieces except the stuffing. He even liked the sprouts, and took the rest of the parsnips to his room for later. Chutikarn, who is from Thailand also seemed to like most of it, except the sprouts! I told them to try one of each thing and then have more if they liked it. It was a serve yourself lunch! I expect my dogs will enjoy their dinner tonight with all the meat scraps! They (the dogs) had already washed up after the meal by 1.30pm !

I love his expression. He seems quite dubious. I've seen Japanese eat live squid but stuffing is too much? To each his own I guess. Kind of you to have chopsticks on hand. I hope you had a very merry Christmas.

What fun! It sounds like a wonderful experiment, and one they'll enjoy writing home about! :) Thanks for sharing your meal with us. :)

Magnificent capture of your students and interesting story Andrea.

Chopsticks look awesome but it would take me a very long time to catch on to this tradition. LOL.
