A very handsome artifact from days long gone by. What texture and patina. Like the close-up view.

Wish postal rates could be put into brass today:) Postal rates here have gone up, up, up...but then our postal system keeps losing customers to email and all the other electronic wizardry out there. The last time I paid attention, a 1oz or less envelope takes a $0.49 stamp. The year I graduated from high school (1958) the cost was $0.04.
