Description
The Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV), this one captured back on 10/29/2007 at the beautiful Los Alamitos Army Airfield and then postworked, is a fighting vehicle platform of the United States manufactured by BAE Systems Land & Armaments, formerly United Defense. It was named after U.S. General Omar Bradley.
Just thought I'd get on the merry-go-round of tanks, along with Mark and whoever else, featuring what few shots I have of these big guys. My only problem is that the photos I have feature not only the fighting vehicles themselves, but also the tons of people scrambling on top of and around the vehicles.

These tanks are getting around everywhere, they must be popular at the moment. I like the finish you have given this one it softens it. 😀

Wow, Harry, I had no doubts you had fine tank shots, and this proves it. Your postwork aside, you got a really fine angle on this: It emphasizes the mass and near-monolithic presence of this beast; it's really formidable. But it also makes us feel it can move. Your composition uses the lines perfectly, too: The angle of the top is continued by that building behind; the angle at the back is continued in the cars (and street) in the background; the soldier in front is continued by that pole; and that cannon is sweet counterpoint to the downward angles around it. You stood in just the right spot for this---not too shabby considering there were people milling around. Then there's the coloration: You made it like an apocalypse, the oranges and reds make it feel as if it just came out of the kiln; while the sky looks like the apocalypse is near. As for the intruding people: I gotta say, having a soldier on top brings home the reality---people were meant to be in these things---and the guy in front is great: It's as if you posed him leaning on the beast like it's an old friend. The relaxation of these two couldn't have been posed better: They're at home with one of the most terrifying instruments of war in history. This is first rate: I would've expected a WWI vet to do a shot like this...And btw, the actual BFV is terrifying: That relatively flat metal exterior makes it like a devouring monster. A most impressive shot, Harry.
