This was taken without the flash and the backlight gave it such a lovely look. Thanks for having a looksie!

Good shot. I can see the difference without the flash, Helle. Fortunately, the petals were thin enough to allow light through to see the textures.

again, I'm skipping all over, and I'll get to the 'left out' ones soon. I too can see the difference between the flash one and this one: This one allows much more shadow, to where the center of the flower is sunken in deep shadow. But the light pouring through the petals gives a real burst to the surrounding---and your flower on the left has a wonderful rushing feeling to it, as it rushes right out of the picture...Beautiful use of light and dark; and the bleached white sky in the background helps set off this dark intense flower very dramatically.
