Description

In 1880, King Willem 111 purchased an elegant one person sleigh for his young wife, Queen Emma. Here it is! Her coachman drove it from the rear seat and could control the ice scrapers with his foot to stop it leaning too far into the turns. The Netherlands.

King Willem 111? Never heard of him. Time for some more education of the un-initiateds! Nice photo. The queen must have been a bit on the petite side, I assume. Keep up the good work! :-)
