Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Like your sense of humor Andrea.
You can turn a straight line into a piece of art.
What a cool job you did here-- both pics. are awesome !

I like this AND the flickr version. Yo've simplified the one you posted a few days back, and made it into a bleached, nostalgic piece, with the feeling that a lot has passed in this space, and it's all woven into the walls now...Your topaz-ing is subtle and gives lines in just enough places to impart age. Quite evocative, and I like the gentle hints of green too...
(re pieces like this relieving you of 'drawing' responsibilities---wouldn't it be something to find that the great drawings and etchings of the past were all done with Topaz? Just knowing they had Topaz would be a shock; but that Rembrandt's etchings and gorgeous wash drawings were all Topaz? He'd have to come out of the grave, appear on Oprah, and weep, "I admit it, I can't draw to save my ___". But I say, then he's a master of digital art, 'cause those drawings and etchings are to die for...Full size, this porch really has power. A space with real power...)

You've got the essence of the space, I think. It's somehow more intimate as a line drawing.
