BIO I'm an illustrator, and for the last 15 years I have been doing almost exclusively digital work--mostly covers for e-books and small presses; fantasy, SF and Paranormal Romance covers are my specialty. I useĀ Poser, Photoshop and Painter, and a nifty little paint program called ArtRage. I have been lucky enough to have work shown on the BBC's The Sky at Night, done promotional artwork for the Hugos, and have digital art tutorials published in Michael Burn's Femme Digitale and Digital SciFi Art (Watson-Guptill 2004) as well as DVD covers, cd covers and e-book covers, most recently for Liquid Silver Books, Edge/Tesseract and Dragon Moon Press.Ā I'm also a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists.Ā . When I have time, I do acrylic paintings for fun.
Commissions: I do 3d texturing and backgrounds now rather than book covers, and I do appreciate a good UV template to work on. Thanks for checking out my bio!

It's a bummer so many great characters, outfits and props are sticky daz these days. What I could do if they were poser also. Love all about this my friend. 10++

It's hard to switch-- but at the same time all your Vicky stuff will work there,(you might have to load textures manually, but just once and then save them)-- and I think the Studio itself is still free. I'm finding it pretty easy to use now and a lot more stable than it used to be! One catch is that it does need a good card--I have a Nvidia GForce9500 and that is plenty, but when I had it running on my AMD machine it was really slow. I also got rid of Zone Alarm and that helped too. Thank you too!

You had to tell me it was at DAZ! You just had to tell me....aargh!
great scene

It's a fun place if you have a Platinum coupon! Normally I find Rosity is less expensive and the product testing is better, but now and then there is some gem over there. You should see her pastel mats, they are so pretty!

Nothing wrong with slimy slippery girls.... in fact they are much more fun. I wonder how they would render under octane. And... yup HDR lighting is l=always worth it.
lwperkins
I am guessing she renders like greased..lightning.:D Also she would look amazing wet. I'm still looking for the right "hair" for her--I'm thinking maybe the tiger dreads here at Renderosity (I will have to look up the artist). Thanks as always for peeking!

She is gorgeous, she really stands out!! I have the DM set but I haven't tried the lights yet, now it's on my to do list.
lwperkins
It's really nice! I am kind of glad I got it just for the lights! Thank you too! <3

I saw what you were working on! For some reason I think my emails back to you are ending up in spam or something, but that is really neat! I think the ears are my favorite part :D
DM
Very beautiful work and thank you! :)

Thank you for making it--though I just realized it's White Spring Number 3 in my image! I have to go back and check out number 1 and 2 now :D

Splendid render. I switch from poser to Daz a long long time ago. First to Carrara and then when Daz Studio 3 came out moved to that. Never looked back. Daz is definitely getting better with each release.
lwperkins
It's gotten easier somehow..maybe I have just gotten used to it :D It doesn't seem to crash like it used to!

Thank you!! All the credit goes to Parrotdolphin and Danie and Marforno! :D
fireangel
The mix & match of the character and your eyes works really well here! Nice work as usual.
lwperkins
Thank you too! As long as the mesh doesn't change, all the eyes work fine!

This is so lovely! And both parrotdolphin (wish she would release more stuff in the future) and DM are my fave vendors! I agree, they make such cool stuff!
lwperkins
She's been super busy with work! And I agree, I love everything she makes. I'm slowly collecting all of DM's things--I still use their older sets but I really love the SF theme things they are making now. And thank you too!

She looks so relaxed :) I love those mountains in the background. And I want that swing in real life. It looks super fun!

Excellent work. I'm just learning DS and I hate its hierarchy. In Poser, I set up everything as I want it to make it easier to find. DS doesn't offer that option even in "My Library". I haven't used favorites (which might help), and I can't save characters except as a scene, but the lighting is superior even using the default light set up. Unfortunately, V4, M4 and the Freak 4 body morphs don't work in DS. I'm getting no support from DAZ so I'm not buying anything there until they help me solve this issue.
lwperkins
It takes some getting used to--inside your Content Library you do have some flexibility where you want to put things--I actually like Daz's grouping of a figure and their hair, clothes and props, and the library seems really robust--it can hold a lot without falling over. Your V4 and M4 problems are probably because they need to be initialized--I lost that file in a crash a while back and ended up re-downloading V4 and her weird little extra files through the DIM, not just her base files but also the Power Pose and whatever other odd things are in there with her, and now she loads. She does need those extra files to run.
