The dovecote was naturally of use to the breeding of the pigeons, but it also marked the wealth of the owner of the Castle Le pigeonnier servait bien entendu à l'élevage des pigeons, mais il marquait aussi la richesse du propriétaire du Château Château de Montesquieu, la Brède, Gironde, France

Aha, another dovecote. He must have been quite wealthy to have two. I wonder what all the doves were for? Sending messages? Or food? Keep up the good work! :-)
