Description

La tour Vauban, initialement nommée tour de Camaret ou tour Dorée, est une tour polygonale défensive construite sur un plan directeur de Vauban et érigée sur le Sillon à Camaret-sur-Mer dont elle figure sur les armoiries. Elle constitue un des prototypes les mieux restaurés des forts à la mer à batterie basse et tour de gorge construits par Vauban, avec comme originalité l'enduit qui la recouvre, à base de brique pilée. The Vauban Tower, originally called the Camaret Tower or Golden Tower, is a polygonal defensive tower built on a master plan of Vauban and erected on the Sillon in Camaret-sur-Mer, whose coat of arms it appears on. It is one of the best-restored prototypes of Vauban's battery-powered sea forts built by Vauban, with the originality of the plaster covering it, made from crushed brick.

C'est impressionnant ce que Vauban a pu laisser comme nombre d'édifices et de fortifications dans notre pays! J'adore l'entrée du port de Le Palais à Belle-Isle-en-Mer, qu'il a fortifiée, et je ne connaissais pas cette tour ! C'est une superbe capture d'un bâtiment tout aussi beau à regarder.
