Description

myself or my two passengers were not injured seriously at least nothing major has shown up. the ToyCow was what was left of Toyota and the dealer name. I got the fire department to pull my bumper away from my tire and I was able to drive it home to unload my belongings. I then took it to the dealer and arranged for a rental car. I expect a week or longer to repair it. I was hoping that it would be totaled, probably not the case

A car never seems the same after an accident! A most unfortunate happening for you and passenger! Hope you didn't get any latent injuries! Here is to a speedy recovery in all areas so you can get back on the road again!

Bad ride...at least nobody was injured ! I too was sick, two months ago, when I saw that my brand new Nissan XTrail (200 mi !) had been damaged on a parking lot ! As you can imagine no note was left by the person who did this....

If you're lucky, they will decide that the vehicle will have to be totaled and be nice enough to replace it- Very glad that you and your passenger are okay

They still might write it off, glad you all are ok. Bet the person that hit you was playing with the phone.

It looks in better condition than that teen's pickup! I hope it's either fully repairable, or, if not, you get a new one! There can be damage inside that isn't visible until it's repair time again, again, again... you get the idea. Glad you and your friends didn't get injured. But, I'm thinking of that deceiving thing called whip-lash. Can show up later. It's caused by swelling of over stretched neck tissues. I hope you're spared this! Good that you took photos. Keep up the good work. :-)

As others have said it would be better if the car was written off, never the same again after something like this.

Actually it's a bit too high of a hit to do any serious damage to the structure or mechanical areas, if yous dealer has a quality repair facility you should be Okay. I do this for a living at a Ford dealership... Good luck with it...

What are the chances that the Insurance will pay for such extensive repair? Not all repair garages are the same! I'd prefer it if they wrote that off Richard. Especially as I DO think the Chassis has been compromised!

Oh well, almost six years ago I found myself in a comparable situation, even though mobile use is prohibited when driving in Germany. But in difference, I had only been riding a 916, that looked like this afterwards (the Patrol GR that hit me from behind had be similarily damaged as the Ford). And since then, I´m riding a wheelchair - and a Mono(T)racer. https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/dont-stop-me-now-im-a-biker-again-/2668846/?p https://vimeo.com/155405950 You had better luck than me.130221_01(Schief).jpg

Well whatever the case, Richard, it's good that you're okay. I do hope that stupid punk's insurance reames him good for the next several years. Usually when you hit somebody from the rear, it's pretty much automatically the fault of the driver who rear ends the car in front of him.
