very rembrandtian light and dark, and beautiful feeling of looming---created in part by those tall lines above the candle---I can't tell if that's a vessel, or lines on a surface, or what; but they make a looming 'tower' next to the candle, and it gives this image a sense of being in a dark, tall open chamber, of which we're viewing just an intimate 'corner'. Like in a castle. Deep red browns in the shadows too. Great use of filtering and textures...
