BIO I'm an illustrator, and for the last 15 years I have been doing almost exclusively digital work--mostly covers for e-books and small presses; fantasy, SF and Paranormal Romance covers are my specialty. I use Poser, Photoshop and Painter, and a nifty little paint program called ArtRage. I have been lucky enough to have work shown on the BBC's The Sky at Night, done promotional artwork for the Hugos, and have digital art tutorials published in Michael Burn's Femme Digitale and Digital SciFi Art (Watson-Guptill 2004) as well as DVD covers, cd covers and e-book covers, most recently for Liquid Silver Books, Edge/Tesseract and Dragon Moon Press. I'm also a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. . When I have time, I do acrylic paintings for fun.
Commissions: I do 3d texturing and backgrounds now rather than book covers, and I do appreciate a good UV template to work on. Thanks for checking out my bio!

OMG...they're so CUTE!! 😺 And They have a beautiful home! They remind me of elephants, which are just big old land whales. I should send you a link where this marine biologist was swimming around and this whale 🐋 came up and started pushing and prodding her. She kind of got scared, but it was being gentle but insistent that she go back to her boat. Turned out the whale was hiding her from a shark. It made my eyes leak...darn allergies. 😹

Hey, I love the way you placed the youngster! Your painting skills never cease to amaze, and although I have seen them before it seems as if it is a while since I saw so much of it on display at once. Rendered backgrounds often have a very different feel to the painted ones, and it is rare to see somebody posting both kinds of image.

This is a wonderful scene with these prehistoric creatures. Excellent job on the setting as well, and the baby critter is a delightful touch!
lwperkins
Thank you both--that baby is just delightful :) The background is sort of a rendered/painted hybrid--I found that all painting means I have to paint on the figures too or they just don't blend all that well! And these guys look nice just out of the box!

Very nice image! Unique creatures are very cool!

I'm always tempted by them in the MP--I have the world's ugliest fish, the marocerus.. and that thing always makes me laugh! Thank you too!

Tavvy! I love those guys too. I had them forever before I pulled them out for a render.
lwperkins
They are rigged nicely--I need to find a spare hour to repaint them for fun :D Thanks too!
