Description

last year Ford used wood for structural components it is located at the Old Montana Prison/Auto museum in Deer Lodge, Montana "has a straight inline 8 Cylinder" incorrect information. Ford may have had a straight 8 at one time, but I never heard of it. Flathead 8 makes far more sense. thanks Bill for mentioning it

Nice photo Richard. Like the color and lighting. Someone had some bad info up about the engine...it was Ford's famous flathead V8. Ford began using that engine in 1932. You can also see the V8 symbol on the side of the hood.

P.S. Tara and I visited there about 3-4 years ago too. Fascinating place.

Very nice capture. Well done.
I think it is very practical to use a wide angle lens for such photos.

my wide angle is 2.8 while my everyday lens is 4.0. the museum is very dark for the most part so a fast lens is needed when using no flash

Excellent photo Richard and the colour really suits it. Morris did the same with the Minor Traveller so you have to make sure they're sound if you buy. Who wouldn't love to own a woodie.

Would this car be considered a "Woody" like in the Beach Boys songs? It's beautiful regardless!

That's a beauty no matter what's under the hood! Super shot, Richard!

love that you got that long angle. And the kind of angle that lets the car spill right into us. Love the deep chocolate brown, and the wood panels (orange-amber, almostt), and how the front comes right into our laps. I don't know much about car details (that's definitely Bill's thing!); but you captured the big, snazzy sweep of the thing, and made it look like a hot dude ready for a night on the town, in 1938-----only he's held up behind a big link chain. (Let 'm go! He's got some partying to do!) A snazzy jazzy shot of this old beauty.
