Description
Captured back on 4/4/09, at the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, California.
Sorry, I don't know the year of this beauty.
So, what is a Rolls Royce, or any other elegant auto, doing in an airplane hanger? The only car I found in any of the hangars that day.
That is a Grumman F6F Hellcat to the right in the background.

Great photo of this Rolls! Why it's in an airplane display is beyond me... LOL

when you first posted this, I looked up "rolls royce" in relation to this air museum, and all I could find was that one of the planes there used a rolls royce engine! (A "nene". I have no idea what that is.) Maybe that's why they have an actual rolls here, Or maybe the people who run this place just like rolls royces. In any case, while it doesn't quite fit with its surroundings, its sheen and regal appearance does belong with such regal and beautiful planes.
As in all your car shots, you got a fine angle, and lots of its light and sheen, in shot 1. The red railing makes a strong contrast with all those whites and greens. And the second shot---I assume a standard hood ornament for r.royces?---is glowing and regal. And the red railing makes fine abstract imagery in the front chrome. A big surprise in this series, and another of your fine car shots.
Harry, I'm at 70 minutes now, and I did 11 or 12 shots. I'll be back for more, even if I'm gone from RR here and there. I'm closer to the the present (in your gallery) than I was before, at least. As always, a great treat to be here, and to comment on your widely varied and always totally committed and beautiful offerings. I hope to be back in the next few days. (I've learned a lot about planes here too. I never realized the vast variety of models the US made during the war years. I had no idea how broad it was...)
